Insource acquires 18WeekeLearning expanding its integrated Healthcare Solution Portfolio 29.10.19

Insource Ltd has completed the acquisition of 18WeekeLearning Ltd, expanding its Patient Pathway Plus (PP+) application suite. Healthcare organisations can now take advantage of integrated scenario-based learning as part of Insource’s health data management solution, improving operational performance and management of Elective Care Patient Access.

18WeekeLearning provides staff training solutions for healthcare organisations to understand and comply with 18 Week Referral to Treatment (RTT) rules and Cancer Waiting Times guidance. Established by Karen Hyde in 2013, 18WeekeLearning offers regularly updated online training and reference material and has already assisted over 20,000 staff across 45 NHS Trusts in meeting the expected national standards.

“18WeekeLearning is founded on a desire to make sure it can train every single healthcare member of staff to do the best job possible and deliver patients to their entitlement of being treated within 18 weeks,” explains Hyde. “Elective care systems are so critical to the daily work environment of healthcare professionals it has become impossible to separate the individual from the technology. Integration with Patient Pathway Plus will enable us to provide on demand scenario-based training and ongoing learning.”

“We are very excited to have added 18WeekeLearning’s deep subject expertise as another important component to the PP+ proposition, expanding our portfolio of integrated products and services,” comments Steve Aitken, Insource CEO. “Our goal has always been to help our clients smartly apply technology to sustainably transform healthcare. This acquisition enables us to ensure our technology solutions are being optimally used by the people they are designed for, ensuring effective implementation that achieves the target operational outcomes.”

“It’s widely acknowledged that any real transformation needs to go well beyond selecting and implementing the right technology solution. It requires a cultural change,” comments Anthony (Mac) McKeever, Chair of Insource Healthcare Advisory Board. “This acquisition proves Insource’s foresight that long term sustainable improvement requires technology to be embedded and supported in the organisation so that it changes the way people work for the better.”

Insource is a privately-owned UK business and leader in data preparation and data automation solutions. There will be no change in existing service offering to current 18WeekeLearning customers. Insource will continue to offer the stand-alone products and services while also integrating the training content and materials into its wider set of elective care patient access solutions.
