EFFECTIVE MANAGEMENT OF ELECTIVE CARE PATHWAYS GETS YET MORE EFFICIENT THANKS TO FILTERING AND INTEGRATION ADVANCES
18 February 2019 – Reading, UK
Insource Ltd has announced enhancements to its already-award-winning Patient Pathway Plus (PP+) solution, installed in leading NHS trusts for integrated management of elective care pathways. PP+ won “highly commended” in recent Northern Care Alliance NHS Group awards and stands shortlisted in the Healthcare Analytics Provider of the Year section of the 2019 HSJ Partnership Awards for the Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust implementation.
User experience improvements in version 4.2 include extremely fast filtering of huge pathway lists, based on any parameter alongside improved drop lists and displays. Now with no limit on the fields that can be included in the pathway filter, integration of Patient Pathway Plus activity with a trust’s existing processes and procedures is even simpler. PP+ users can also now bookmark searches and easily highlight last viewed pathways. This has significant time-saving benefits as analyst hours spent scrolling through long lists to establish the last pathway viewed are eliminated.
A finishing flourish on the new version is flexible text formatting, allowing users to add freeform text to note actions undertaken or required in the notes field in any colour or font!
The new features were developed in collaboration with client teams at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust and at Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Jon Lawton, Head of Information Business Development for the Northern Care Alliance NHS Group said of the improvements, “At Salford Royal we were already delighted with the impact of PP+ in that it makes accurate RTT reporting available at the press of a button. These user-driven improvements provide us with even more confidence as we roll out the application across the Northern Care Alliance NHS Group.”
Steve Chokr, Deputy Chief Information Officer at Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust, another trust that is very progressive in digital transformation, said of the collaboration for improvement, “We are really pleased that Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust has made these positive contributions to the continued development of PP+. Management of our elective care pathways is a major focus for us and all the great work being done by the Salford/Insource partnership will benefit Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust when we upgrade to this next version. We are aiming to replicate this work in collaboration with Insource on other aspects of the Health Data Enterprise suite, in particular with regard to women’s health.”
All of Insource’s existing Patient Pathway Plus clients will enjoy this improved functionality through a free upgrade. It will also be embedded in the solutions rolled out with newly adopting trusts.
